Self portrait of the artist in her studio, Bahrain
Huda Jamal (2000.) is a Bahraini based architect and artist who approaches painting as an exploration of perception, memory, and the emotional undercurrents embedded within contemporary Arab life. Her recent work translates poetic and literary references of Khaleeji based writers into semi-translucent monochrome imagery that navigates the tension between personal experience and shared cultural consciousness.
Driven from her architectural background, her compositions emerge through the careful orchestration of human presence and atmospheric symbolism, allowing each scene to unfold as a contemplative narrative that interplays between figurative art and intimacy. Having exhibited in both regional and international galleries, including the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition, Huda employs her artistic gear to explore the connection between love and tragedy, creating works that resonate with the realities of our modern-day society.
